Corbin P3 Skeleton Key

Skeleton key for door locks made by Corbin. It is marked at the top Corbin P3 on one side and Patd 87 (1887) on the reverse. The key measures 2 3/4″l with a 5/8″l pin (insert). The bit is notched in the center and near the bottom on both sides. There is a groove running across the middle on the left side. The bit is 1/2″l x 3/8″w.

There is some rust residue, but it should not affect functionality.

Corbin

P&F Corbin was founded by brothers Philip and Frank Corbin in New Britain, CT. in 1851. Interestingly, Philip previously worked for the company that would become Russell and Erwin, which Corbin would merge with in 1902. It ran with a number of subsidiary companies in the 1900’s including Corbin Cabinet Lock Co., Corbin Screw Company and even a Corbin Motor Vehicle Corporation! Corbin is still in business today under ownership of Assa Abloy under the name Corbin Russwin.
