Earle Richmond Door Plate

Art Deco style door plate made by Earle hardware. Cir. 1935. The door plate is made of steel with brass finish. It has a dark patina with areas of brass finish showing through. Some finish loss along the edges where it is more steel colored. It is shaped with architectural detailing. The door plate measures 5 5/8″h x 1 7/8″w at the widest point.

Earle Hardware Manufacturing Company produced hardware of various types in the 1920’s and 30’s. Located in Los Angeles, California they focused mainly on American and Spanish Colonial styles. Their hardware was used by a number of notable architects who specialized in these styles at the time.
