Corbin Cabinet Lock 1

Cabinet lock made by Corbin with a brass colored base and brass cylinder for key. It comes with original brass key. The lock mechanism is marked Corbin. The key is marked Corbin Cabinet Lock Div. on one side and Cat 98 on the reverse. The lock base plate measures 2″l x 1 1/2″h. It is affixed with two screws from the back. The cylinder measures 7/8″diam and 7/8″h. The latch only moves up and back into the base plate. It does not move down below the plate. The latch itself measures 5/8″l x 1/8″ thick.

Corbin Cabinet Lock Co.

The founder of Corbin Cabinet Lock Co. was a member of the same Corbin family of P. F. Corbin. It operated at various times both inside and out of the P. F. Corbin business, sometimes under the American Hardware Corporation holding Company. As the name implies, this branch of the company focused on cabinet and trunk hardware whereas the larger P. F. Corbin produced hardware for buildings.
