Indian War Officer’s Belt Buckle

Cast brass U.S. military officer’s belt buckle. Cir 1870’s, Indian War era. The buckle matches the 1874 pattern mold with the eagle facing left with branches in one foot and arrows in the other. The eagle is surrounded by a wreath and a banner at the top reads E Pluribus Unum. All of this is on top of a textured background with quite intricate detail. The buckle measures 2 3/4″l x 2″h.  The underside has a wire loop on one side and a hook attachment on the other side. The buckle is in excellent condition.
