Payson’s Window Sash Fastener
Antique decorative window sash latch made and patented by J. R. Payson. Patents Jan 1876 and June 1876. This type of sash fastener was offered in many of the major catalogues. Cast iron with a bronze knob on the end.
The spring connected to the knob is fairly loose, so it does not offer a lot of tension, but the hook part holds it closed.
