Description
Reading Locris Door Plate
Door face plate made by Reading. Cir. 1923. It is made of wrought steel with a flashed copper finish. It features a pretty border and large acanthus leaf design at the top and bottom. The door plate measures 7 3/4″h x 2 1/2″w.
There are small rust pitting areas with a little bit of finish loss along a good amount of the face.

Reading Hardware began in 1872 in Reading, Pennsylvania. It produced both basic and highly decorative builders hardware. Reading’s hardware was used in many notable buildings including the White House in Washington, D.C. The operation closed in 1950.
