Sargent Hampton Pocket Plate
Shaped flush pocket door plate made by Sargent. Hampton design. Cir. 1920. The door plate is made of wrought steel with a flashed copper finish. It has soft rounded corners and flared sides. The door plate measures 7″l x 2 1/2″w. The inset area that would have to be cut out measures 3 1/2″h x 1 1/2″w. This plate has a keyhole cutout in the center.

Sargent
Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
