Door Face Plate.  The plate is made of wrought brass with a nice patina. It measures 7 1/4″l x 2 1/2″w.   “Hudson” Design by Sargent & Co. Cir 1926. Basic shaping and simple slightly decorative design typical of the 1920’s.

Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
