Sargent Saloniki Door Plate

Semi-decorative wrought steel door plate made by Sargent. Saloniki design. Cir. 1926. Some possible remnants of a brass finish, but mainly steel colored.  It features a  Gothic or crafstman style design. The door plate measures 7 1/4″h x 2 1/2″w.

Sargent
Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
