Norwalk Argyle Doorknob Set

Wrought steel decorative doorknob  set made by Norwalk. Argyle design. Cir. 1905-1909. Very minimal remnants of a copper finish on one knob, but mostly steel colored.  It features a fourfold leaf motif emanating from a central flower. The knobs measure 2 1/4″diam. They have a standard non-threaded square shaft included which can fit doors between 1 5/8″-2 5/8″ thick measured without door plates. If you need a different sized shaft, please let us know. We may be able to swap out.

This Norwalk Argyle Doorknob Set is an antique item and may show wear due to age. This may include scratches, pitting, patina, finish loss, rust or other general wear. We attempt to include any significant damage beyond regular wear within the description. We make every effort to clean as much paint, dirt and rust off of items while still leaving as much of the original patina as possible. Norwalk

Norwalk Lock Company began under the leadership of Ebenezer Hill in 1865. It was located in Norwalk, CT. They manufactured locks, keys, builders hardware and apple peelers. In 1864, after the purchase of a steam pump company, it became Norwalk Iron Works. The Segal Lock and Hardware Company acquired Norwalk in 1929.
