Sargent Hartsdale Door Plate
Door Face Plate. The plate is made of wrought steel. It has a brass finish. “Hartsdale” design by Sargent & Co. Cir. 1920. The door plate measures 7 1/4″h x 2 1/2″w. It features architectural shaping within a border. Similar designs were made by most of the major manufacturers of the time.

Sargent
Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
