Lockwood Azex Face Plate

Art deco style door face plate with architectural shaping and horizontal lines. It is made of wrought bronze. “Azex” design by Lockwood. Cir. 1932. The door plate measures 5 3/4″h x 1 5/8″w. Excellent condition with light patina.

Lockwood
Lockwood Hardware Manufacturing Company began in 1878 under Henry Sanford Lockwood and Henry W. Lester. In 1889, Lockwood purchased the Nashua Lock Company. After suffering a bit of decline due to the Great Depression, the Independent Lock Company (ILCO) absorbed Lockwood. In 1934, an Australia branch began which continues to this day The company was later reincorporated under the original name. It continues today as Lockwood under the Assa Abloy Group.
