Arabic Bin Pull by Mallory Wheeler

Cast bronze bin pull made by Mallory Wheeler. Cir. 1890. It features the popular Arabic design with stylized Arabic script running across the pull and a unique wavelike background. This matches the Arabic door hardware seen in the catalogue page. The pull mounts with two screws on the outside. It measures 4″l x 1 3/8″h.

Mallory Wheeler

Mallory Wheeler began in 1834 in New Haven Conn. Under the name Pierpont & Hotchkiss. In 1866 the name changed to Davenport, Mallory & Co., then in 1868 it became Mallory, Wheeler & Co. under John Davenport Wheeler. They made high quality, quite ornate hardware and won a number of awards for their designs. Sargent was a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. The company closed due to bancruptcy in 1913.
