Barrows Panama/Tunis Door Plate

Heavy cast bronze door plate made by Barrows. Cir. 1920-1939. In the 1920 catalogue the design name is Panama. It is listed under the special designs section in this catalogue. In the 1939 catalogue the name  is Tunis. The door plate features leaf motifs at the top and bottom with some shaping on the ends. The plate measures 8 1/2″h x 2″w. It is in excellent condition.

Barrows Lock Works began in 1880 in Lockport, Ill. It is purchased by Yale & Towne in 1925, but they continue to produce under the barrows name until 1953.
