Sargent 1888 Doorknob Set

Highly decorative bronze doorknob set from 1888. Made by Sargent. It features floral and leaf motifs that extend to the backside of the knob. The doorknobs measure 2 1/2″ diam. They have a nice even patina.

The doorknobs come complete with a square shaft. The distance between doorknobs (measured without plates) can vary between 1 3/8″- 2 1/2″ with the current shaft. If you need a different size please let us know, we may be able to find a different sized shaft.

This Sargent 1888 Doorknob Set is an antique item and may show wear due to age. This may include scratches, pitting, patina, finish loss, rust or other general wear. We attempt to include any significant damage beyond regular wear within the description. Sargent

Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
