Norwalk Decorative Doorknob
Decorative early doorknob made by Norwalk Cir. 1890-1894. This doorknob is made of cast iron with floral and leaf motifs with a stippled background. Highly decorated with the decoration extending to the underside of the knob. This type of highly decorative knob is often referred to as Eastlake style. The knob measures 2 1/4″diam. It takes a standard shaft.

Norwalk
Norwalk Lock Company began under the leadership of Ebenezer Hill in 1865. It was located in Norwalk, CT. They manufactured locks, keys, builders hardware and apple peelers.In 1864, after the purchase of a steam pump company, it became Norwalk Iron Works. The Segal Lock and Hardware Company acquired Norwalk in 1929.
