Barrows Panama/Tunis Doorknob

Single heavy cast bronze doorknob made by Barrows Lock Works. Cir. 1920-1939. In the 1920 catalogue the design name is Panama. It is listed under the special designs section in this catalogue. In the 1939 catalogue the name for this design is Tunis. The doorknob features an intricate  floral and leaf decoration with a rich coppery color. Quite a beautiful design. The doorknob measures 2 1/4″diam. It fits on a standard square shaft.

The doorknob is in excellent condition.

Barrows Lock Works began in 1880 in Lockport, Ill. It is purchased by Yale & Towne in 1925, but they continue to produce under the Barrows name until 1953.
