Corbin Ceylon Drum Doorknob Set

Bronze drum shaped doorknob set made by Corbin. A version of the Ceylon design. Cir. 1895-1905. The set consists of 2 matching doorknobs with adjustable shaft. The doorknobs measure 2 1/4″diam. They feature Eastlake style designs with a mix of floral and geometric elements densely populating a stippled  background. With the current shaft, this set will fit doors between 1 1/4″- 2 1/4″ thick (measured without door plates). If a different size shaft is needed, please let us know. We may be able to swap out for a different size.

The doorknobs are fairly polished.

This Corbin Ceylon Drum Doorknob Set  is an antique item and may show wear due to age. This may include scratches, pitting, patina, finish loss, rust or other general wear. We attempt to include any significant damage beyond regular wear within the description. Corbin

P&F Corbin was founded by brothers Philip and Frank Corbin in New Britain, CT. in 1851. Interestingly, Philip previously worked for the company that would become Russell and Erwin, which Corbin would merge with in 1902. It ran with a number of subsidiary companies in the 1900’s including Corbin Cabinet Lock Co., Corbin Screw Company and even a Corbin Motor Vehicle Corporation! Corbin is still in business today under ownership of Assa Abloy under the name Corbin Russwin.
