Reading Bemis Door Plate
Art deco style door face plate. Bemis design made by Reading. Cir, 1931. The door plate features distinctive shaping. It is made of wrought steel with a bronze finish. The plate measures 6 1/8″h x 1 1/2″w.
There is a bit of finish loss in areas and a little damage around the keyhole.

Reading Hardware began in 1872 in Reading, Pennsylvania. It produced both basic and highly decorative builders hardware. Reading’s hardware was used in many notable buildings including the White House in Washington, D.C. The operation closed in 1950.
