Lockwood Oakdale Door Plate Brass Finish
Decorative door plate made by Lockwood. Oakdale design. This is the same design as Norwich, but the steel version. Cir. 1914. The door plate is made of wrought steel with a brass finish. It features shaping at the top and bottom and a dense decoration with leaf, bead and medallion motifs along the top and bottom. The door plate measures 8″l x 2 1/2″w.
Some very small areas of rust/finish loss.

Lockwood
Lockwood Hardware Manufacturing Company began in 1878 under Henry Sanford Lockwood and Henry W. Lester. In 1889, Lockwood purchased the Nashua Lock Company. After suffering a bit of decline due to the Great Depression, the Independent Lock Company (ILCO) absorbed Lockwood. In 1934, an Australia branch began which continues to this day The company was later reincorporated under the original name. It continues today as Lockwood under the Assa Abloy Group.
