Mallory Wheeler Fleur de Lis Door Set

Cast bronze door set made by Mallory Wheeler. Fleur de Lis design. Cir. 1882-1885. The set consists of 2 matching door plates and a set of doorknobs with adjustable shaft. The door plates measure 5 1/4″h x 1 5/8″w.  The door plates have slightly different markings on the back. Both are marked M. W. Co. One has an additional number, probably the catalogue number G 1362. There are remnants of japanning on the background of the door plates, but most has worn away to reveal the bronze underneath.

The doorknobs measure 2 1/4″diam. They feature Eastlake style designs on both sided of the knob with a mix of floral, geometric elements and of course the fleur de lis densely populating a slightly textured  background. With the current shaft, this set will fit doors between 1 1/4″- 2 1/4″ thick measured with the door plates. If a different size shaft is needed, please let us know. We may be able to swap out for a different size. The door plates have slightly different markings on the back. Both are marked M. W. Co. One has an additional number, probably the catalogue number G 1362. There are remnants of japanning on the background of the door plates, but most has worn away to reveal the bronze underneath.
