National Cash  Register Key 1

Flat double-sided type key made by National Cash Register Co. Marked Natl Cash Register Co. Dayton, Ohio 1 on one side.  This key was used to operate the lock on the lid of 300 and 700 class cash registers. The key measures 1 7/8″l with a 1″l bit(insert). It has symmetrical notches on both sides and a small nub at the tip.

National Cash Register Company began in 1884 under John Henry Patterson. They manufactured cash registers of various types as well as associated cabinetry, adding machines and other related items.  In 1974, the name changed 10 NCR Corporation and in 1991 AT&T purchases the company.
