Norwalk Pat 1870 Skeleton Key
Skeleton key for use with door locks made by Norwalk. It has a flat shaft that is marked Norwalk Lock Co. on one side and Patd July 12 1870 on the reverse. The key measures 3 1/4″l with a 3/4″l pin (insert). The bit has small notches on each side at the top and bottom. It has a larger notch bottom center. The bit measures 15.9mm high from the top of the pin. The key is fairly worn and a bit asymettrical.

Norwalk
Norwalk Lock Company began under the leadership of Ebenezer Hill in 1865. It was located in Norwalk, CT. They manufactured locks, keys, builders hardware and apple peelers. In 1864, after the purchase of a steam pump company, it became Norwalk Iron Works. The Segal Lock and Hardware Company acquired Norwalk in 1929.
