Oversized Decorative Strike Plate

Cast bronze oversized decorative strike plate with tab for use with exterior or commercial doors with mortise locks. An early example, probably 1880’s-1890’s. Highly decorated with Eastlake style. A stippled background with floral motifs. The strike plate measures 5 5/8″l x 1 1/16″w excluding the tab. The latch hole measures 7/8″l x 5/8″w. The deadbolt hole measures 1 1/8″h x 1/2″w. There is a 1″ distance between the two holes. Both sides are decorative, so it can be used for either right or left open doors. One side has patina, the other side is fairly polished.

The tab has a bit of a curve to it.
