Pexto Bristol Door Plate Brass
Semi-decorative door plate set made of wrought brass. Made by Pexto. Cir. 1923. The plate features shaping with decorative elements a the top and bottom. It measures 7 7/8″h x 2 5/8″w. Springer Lock has a Bristol design in their 1920 catalogue that seems to match this design, but it is slightly shorter. It is also shown with a different doorknob.

Pexto (Peck, Stow & Wilcox)
The Peck Stow & Wilcox Hardware company began as a merger in 1870 of 3 companies: Peck, Smith Manufacturing, The S. Stow Manufacturing Company and the Roys & Wilcox Company. Its home base was Connecticut. Over the years, the company expanded and acquired other companies, branching out to multiple locations. Machinery and tools were their main focus, but they also produced a variety of home hardware. The company went bankrupt in 2003.
