Primitive Wood and Brass Butter Mold

A rare primitive butter mold made of wood and nickel plated brass. It features an adjustable brass handle that can be locked in place at the top and adjusted to different heights to make different sized blocks of butter. The box is made of wood held together with brass screws.  A lovely early and still functional piece. Great decor for a primitive kitchen!

There is a little bit of corrosion on the metal and some nickel plating loss . There are small cracks along the outside of the wood due to age, but the interior is still solid and the cracking does not affect the functionality.  It has been well oiled to prevent further wood drying.

The box measures 5 1/2″l x 3″h x 3 1/4″w.
