Reading Nouvelle Doorknob Set
Decorative wrought steel doorknob set made by Reading. Steel color with some small dark patina spots. Nouvelle design. Cir. 1895-1931. It features a deep, amorphous art nouveau inspired design over most of the top. The doorknob measures 2 1/4″diam.
It comes complete with an adjustable doorknob shaft that will fit doors between 1 3/4″-2 3/4″ thick measured without door plates.

Reading
Reading Hardware began in 1872 in Reading, Pennsylvania. It produced both basic and highly decorative builders hardware. Reading’s hardware was used in many notable buildings including the White House in Washington, D.C. The operation closed in 1950.
