Sargent B Design Faceplate

Door Face Plate. Made of wrought steel with remnants of a bronze finish. “B Design” made by by Sargent. Cir. 1910. The door plate measures 5 1/2″l x 1 5/8″w.  It features an intricate design of swirling leaves. Some rust.

Sargent

Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
