Sargent Brandon Push Plate Bronze
Oval cast bronze push plate made by Sargent. Cir. 1901. This type of design was popular from the early 1800’s into the 1920’s and variations of it were made by every manufacturer. The push plate is oval shaped and has a bead pattern around the edge. It measures 11″h x 3 1/8″w. It is marked on the back Sargent & Co. 772 BC.

Sargent
Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
