Sargent Radial Exterior Door Plate Brass

Oversized exterior Art Deco style door face plate. Made of wrought brass.  “Radial” Design by Sargent & Co. Cir. 1926. The door plate measures 9″h x 2 1/2″w. It has a fairly consistent brown patina over most of the surface.

Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
