Sargent Saloniki Doorknob

Semi-decorative wrought steel doorknob made by Sargent. Saloniki design. Cir. 1926.  It features a fourfold Gothic or crafstman style design. The doorknob measures 2 1/4″diam. It takes a standard sized non-threaded square shaft.

The outside edge is a bit rough from rust pitting.

Sargent
Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
