Vintage Lucite Knob or Hanger

Large round lucite knob with bakelite back rosette and chrome center. This could have been a dummy knob or possibly a towel hanger. The bakelite backing rosette is beige in color and measures 3 1/4″ diam.  The knob mounts to a threaded shaft with a plate on the back, similar to how a dummy knob would mount. The lucite knob part measures 2 1/2″. It is fairly substantial, measuring almost 1″ thick. Many possible uses! No manufacturers marks, so unsure who made it or its true original function. My date estimate would be 1950’s-70’s.

The lucite is in good condition but does have a few small nicks.
