Corbin Ceylon Door Set
Bronze door set made by Corbin. Ceylon design. Cir. 1895-1905. The set consists of 2 matching door plates and a set of doorknobs with adjustable shaft. The door plates measure 5 1/2″h x 1 1/2″w. The doorknobs measure 2 1/4″diam. They feature Eastlake style designs with a mix of floral and geometric elements densely populating a stippled background. With the current shaft, this set will fit doors between 1 3/8″- 2 1/4″ thick measures with door plates. If a different size shaft is needed, please let us know. We may be able to swap out for a different size.
The set has been given a modern gold tone finish. The finish is in good condition and looks good, so we left it. The doorknobs and plates are not magnetic, so they are both real bronze under the finish.
This item is shippable.

Corbin
P&F Corbin was founded by brothers Philip and Frank Corbin in New Britain, CT. in 1851. Interestingly, Philip previously worked for the company that would become Russell and Erwin, which Corbin would merge with in 1902. It ran with a number of subsidiary companies in the 1900’s including Corbin Cabinet Lock Co., Corbin Screw Company and even a Corbin Motor Vehicle Corporation! Corbin is still in business today under ownership of Assa Abloy under the name Corbin Russwin.
