Brittan Graham & Mathes Lotus Double Keyhole Door Plate
Early cast iron door plate with bronze accents made by Brittan Graham & Mathes. Lotus design, seen in 1890 catalogue. The plate is an exterior door plate with double keyhole. This type of plate was often used on hotel or apartment doors where there would be a master key and a tenant key. The bottom keyhole has a swinging bronze cover plate. The cup is also bronze. The plate is marked 850A 1060 on the back. This plate was used with a number of different doorknob designs within the catalogue.
The door plate measures 7 1/8″h x 1 3/4″w. Center to center distance between the doorknob hole and first keyhole is 2″. Center to center between doorknob hole and second keyhole is 3 1/4″.
