Norwalk Butterfly Rosette
Antique cast bronze door rosette escutcheon made by Norwalk. Cir. 1885. It features dense decoration on a stippled background. Three little butterflies surrounded by floral motifs. The rosette measures 2″ in diameter and has 3 holes for attachment. The inside of the cup for the doorknob measures about 5/8″diam.
The rosette is in good condition, but does have fairly heavy wear on one edge.
Note*- Antique rosettes will not cover a modern 2 1/4″ hardware hole.

Norwalk
Norwalk Lock Company began under the leadership of Ebenezer Hill in 1865. It was located in Norwalk, CT. They manufactured locks, keys, builders hardware and apple peelers.In 1864, after the purchase of a steam pump company, it became Norwalk Iron Works. The Segal Lock and Hardware Company acquired Norwalk in 1929.
