Reading Elaine Exterior Doorknob Set
Bronze decorative exterior doorknob set with one larger knob and one normal sized knob. Made by Reading. Cir. 1891-1899. Elaine design. A somewhat silly name for a doorknob (unless of course your name is Elaine!), but this design is absolutely exquisite. The knobs both have dense double sided decoration with a thick lined collar along the edge. The top is concave, making the design appear to spiral into the depths. The larger doorknob measures 2 1/2″ in diameter. The smaller one measures the typical 2 1/4″.
The doorknobs both have a nice rich consistent patina with just a hint of sparkle within the design.
It comes complete with an adjustable exterior type swivel doorknob shaft that will fit doors between 2″-2 1/2″ thick measured without door plates. If a different size or type of shaft is needed please let us know, we may be able to trade out.
This Reading Elaine Exterior Doorknob Set is an antique item and may show wear due to age. This may include scratches, pitting, patina, finish loss, rust or other general wear. We attempt to include any significant damage beyond regular wear within the description. We make every effort to clean as much paint, dirt and rust off of items while still leaving as much of the original patina as possible. Photos shown are of actual item you will receive.
