Sargent Hampton Door Plate Bronze (Door Plate 31)

Door face plate. Made of wrought bronze with a japanned copper finish. “Hampton” design by Sargent & Co. Cir. 1920. The door plate features rounded corners and shaping. The door plate measures 7 1/8″l x 2 1/2″w.

Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
