Sargent Bin Pull Pat 1872

Cast iron decorative bin pull made by Sargent. Eastlake style decoration with intricate shaping and dense geometric and leaf/floral motifs. The bin pull measures 4 1/4″l x 2″h. It has a 2 3/4″ center to center distance for mounting screws. It is marked on the back Pat. Oct 1, 1872. This particular design is reproduced today, but the reproductions are not nearly as crisp in detail. This is an original antique piece.

Sargent
Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
